Studio's Policies
We have developed the following policies to give clarification of how our studio works and hopefully answer some of your questions.
Hours
Our studio closes one hour early when there are no active painters remaining in the studio. The last seating to paint is 1 hour and 30 minutes before the posted closing time. You can find a list of our current hours posted here at the header and footer of our website.
Holiday Hours: Holiday hours and observed holidays will be posted on social media and on the homepage of our website a week in advance
Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, we may close the studio early or choose not to open. Please call or check our website or social media to confirm our hours.
Events and Party Studio Time
Children's Birthdays: Our parties consist of 90 minutes. One hour for painting and 30 minutes for singing Happy Birthday, taking photos, and sharing cake or snacks. If you plan to order pizza or other food, please check with our staff and plan accordingly. We charge $40 for every 30 minutes over the allocated time for the party (available only if there is no other event ahead of you).
Adult Events: Our adult gatherings/events consist of 2 hours of studio time. Please have your guests arrive 15 minutes early to select their pieces and maximize their painting time. If your guests do not finish their pieces within the allocated time, they may take their work with them and schedule a good time to return to finalize it. A studio fee will be applicable.
Studio Rental: If you are hosting an event before or after hours, we are happy to work with you to ensure the time allocated for your group is just right!
Confirmation Process: Three days before the event, you'll receive an email to confirm the number of painters attending. Your prompt response to this confirmation is crucial as it allows us to plan our staff accordingly and ensures that everyone has a fantastic painting experience.
Attendance Policy: In the event of any painter's absence on the scheduled day, a fee will be applicable. This fee is necessary to manage resources and uphold the quality of our events. If you have any concerns or questions about this policy, please feel free to reach out to us.
Studio Time and Fees
The cost of each art piece includes a 90-minute session with paints, glazing, firing, use of the studio, and staff assistance with design. If you wish to extend your painting time, there is a fee of $5 per painter for an additional 30 minutes, provided tables are available.
Studio's Supplies and Glazes
We have unfortunately encountered some misuse of our supplies, such as damaging brushes and sponges with scissors or excessive use of glazes. Please note that once you start painting your ceramic, you cannot wash it off and start over again. We understand that mistakes and we are happy to help you correct them. However, we will charge $20 in additional to the pottery, if you decide to run your piece underwater and start over again, or if there is a lack of respect for the studio's supplies.
Our underglazes in the paint containers cannot be combined as everyone uses them. Please clean your brush or change brushes when you switch colors. There will be a $20 charge if the paints you use are mixed together.
Slippery Hands - Conduct Policy
Since pottery is breakable and we generally have custom pieces in process, it is unacceptable to have children running in the studio. While our staff will try to control this, it is ultimately the responsibility of parents/guardians to discourage this type of behavior. Our policy is to charge 50% of the price of a broken piece to cover our expenses of purchase, shipping, and stocking.
Pottery Pick-Ups | Storage
Our studio closes one hour early daily when there are no active painters present. To ensure we are open for your pick-up, kindly plan to retrieve your finished pottery pieces at least one hour before our standard closing time or give us a call to coordinate pickup.
Pottery Ready Timeframe: Pottery painted today will be ready for pick-up within 7-10 days after 4 p.m., unless otherwise specified during your visit.
Pick-Up Deadline: Finished pieces must be picked up within 30 days from the date written on your purchase receipt. After this period:
-
Pottery will be placed into storage for 2 months.
-
A $15 fee per item will be incurred for retrieval from our storage service.
Unclaimed Pottery after no 30-day pickup: If pottery remains unclaimed after the storage period, some pieces may be selected for an annual auction/sale, with proceeds donated to the Alzheimer's Association. Unselected pieces will be disposed of.
